Hello there Bears! I'm Freddie, brought home from a local petrol station by my Dad, as they said I was "homeless". Dad had to guess my name, and was right, so he got to bring me home. I like to get up to all sorts of things, from running my own web site (with Boris) to flying broomsticks.

Hello there everyone! Goodness it is quite a time since I visited! So much has been happening, it is hard to know where to begin. Mom did her photography course, loved the first half, hated the second. Then she returned to doing her ancestry research, found out a lot about Dad's background, went on to do her own and discovered she has five half brothers and a half sister.

Now we have great news about our web site - www.freddieandboris.co.uk - we are linking up with a bear club in Yaroslavl, Russia and will be hosting a "vitual trade show" for them. The actual event takes place at Exeter House, Yaroslavl in early September and we will be putting photographs and details of the exhibitors etc on our site.

Now I am hearing you all shouting but Exeter is not is Russia! OK, we know that! But Exeter and Yaroslavl are twin cities - if you want to known more just go to our site and look for Ted E Bear.

So the next few weeks are going to be busy, not to mention that it is Mom and Dad's 40th Wedding Anniversary later in September.

The Freddie and Boris team would very much like to thank Smalvis for all his contributions to the site. When we learnt tbc was closing down, we just could not miss out on all the Bear Burgade adventures or the search for the ancient tunnels.

Our last event at the Bear Winter Olympics was Snowballing. Of course I thought this would just be a case of throwing a few balls of snow around, but alas no. Boris informed me, with a big grin on his face, I was to be the snowball. What? Before I knew what was happening the other bears were rolling me around in the snow, and I was sent down a long, steep slope .......

We were delighted to be awarded with "The Gong" (a very large honey flavoured digestive biscuit with a chocolate edging and centre) at the Winter Olympics. More members of the team received the very coveted "Honey Pot". Thus far we feel we have had a very successful time - there are of course more pictures on our web site.

Did anyone see the Antiques Road Show last evening? There was a wonderful old display of Steiff Bears, including soft toys, bought from the manufacturers many years ago and still working in a toy shop. You can see the whole programme on the BBC web site.

Starting over? - 29/01/2010

Much has been said over the past few weeks regarding the "soft toys" on the site. An issue which it is doubted either David or Darren realised was going to create quite such a stir. Although, as far as can be seen, no official statement has been made, it would indeed be good and sensible news if those threatened with deletion have been allowed to remain.

For a time there we can tell you now, we here at Freddie and Boris HQ, seriously thought The Bear Club was under serious threat of pulling itself to pieces.

Let us hope this will soon all be well behind us! Maybe clarification on the rules and future memberships will be adopted, we have to wait and see.

Maybe then all this can be put firmly behind us, and we can start enjoying The Bear Club all over again, and have some fun!

Teddy Bears and Soft Toys Unite! - 28/01/2010

I have a feeling that we are very soon going to learn something on the "soft toy issue" and hopefully it will be good news. Paws and claws and tightly crossed!

We (as in Freddie, Boris and the Company of Bears) are still though in urgent need for Bears and Soft Toys to help test the new web site. From the way it is developing, it looks as if it could be good fun. Certainly we like the look of some of the applications.

For those of you who are devout to The Bear Club, which of course we all are, this is not a site which is going to be in competition, it is indeed a way of developing new software and technology. The idea of Teddy Bears and Soft Toys testing it, sounded, and hopefully will prove to be good fun.

Please do go to the we site.

You will have to log in and fill out a form. If you are not too happy about this, use your imagination!
